Drunk Poacher Shoots Woman in the Head after Missing Deer

An Iowa grandma is lucky to be alive after a freak occurrence. She was working in her kitchen when she was struck in the head by a stray bullet that was fired by a drunk poacher.

According to KCRG News, Janet Wright, 73, was working in her Friday night when she felt a pain in the back of her head. She noticed she was bleeding pretty bad. She ended up driving herself to the local hospital.  Once there the doctors removed a bullet from the back of her head.

The police investigated and it was determined that the bullet came from 34-year-old Lee Ryals who was out poaching deer. Ryals shot at a deer and missed. According to the Sheriff’s Department, the bullet traveled over a field and 100th Avenue, went through Wright’s living room window, and into her kitchen before hitting her in the head.

It was also reported that Ryals was drunk at the time. It also turns out that he is a convicted felon and never should had a firearm in his position.

He has been charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, reckless use of a firearm, hunting without a license, shooting at a deer after legal hunting hours, and attempting to take a deer illegally. Hopefully, they throw the book at this dirtbag.

Thank God, Janet Wright is going to be fine and was not severely injured,
