How To Cook Fish: Pike Cocktail

Stop Frying Your Fish.

Fried fish is probably the most common way to eat your catch. Even though it is delicious sometimes you want to change things up. For that change up I want to introduce you to fish cocktail. I am using Northern pike for this video but bluegill, perch, bass, or walleye are all good choices. It is a very simple recipe and takes less than 15 min to prepare.

First cut up your fish into bite size pieces. Next boil some water and add about two table spoons of crab boil (Old Bays, Zaterans, ect). Drop in your fish and cook for 3-5 minutes. Pull it out with a slotted spoon and straight into a ice water bath. Pull it out and serve it chilled with a squeeze of lemon, salt, cocktail sauce and a dusting of crab boil.

This is a simple and delicious way to not fry your fish.
