Angler Catches Fish with Two Mouths

Fishermen have pulled some strange creatures out of the water, but none may be as weird as the fish an angler pulled out of Lake Champlain.

According to Fox News, Debbie Geddes was fishing with her husband when she reeled in an unbelievable catch, a fish with two mouths. She released the fish after taking a few photos.

“When this particular fish bit, it felt like I had a nice fish on,” she explained. “I actually commented, ‘I hope it’s as big as it feels!’ When we got it in the boat I couldn’t believe what I was seeing! Two mouths! And yet this fish was healthy and thriving! Pretty amazing!”

The photos were posted online by a co-worker and they quickly went viral. It seems everyone has an idea as to why the fish had two mouths. Speculation ranged from a birth defect, injury, or pollution, but honestly, we will not know unless someone catches the fish again and is examined.

None of the news sites reported on the type of fish it was. To me, it looks like a lake trout but I could be mistaken. Hopefully, another angler will be just as lucky and some of our questions can be answered, but until then Congratulations Debbie on your fish of a lifetime.
