I caught my first brown trout this year in beautiful steam in upstate New York, but it does compare to the behemoth this guy pulled out of a lake in Missouri.
According to a Facebook post by Lilleys Landing Resort and Marina, Bill Babler broke the Missouri state record when he pulled in a massive brown trout weighing in at 40.4lbs. The fish measured 41.25″ long and had a 28″ girth. The fish was caught on a Berkley pink Powerworm.
“Congratulations to Bill Babler for landing the NEW state record brown trout today! 40.4lbs – 41.25″ long – 28” girth.
Bill, a fishing guide on Taneycomo for over 20 years, caught it on a Berkley pink Powerworm just below the mouth of Fall Creek, upper Lake Taneycomo. He was using 6x tippet, or less than 4-pound line.
The current world record is 42lbs 1oz.”
All I can say is WOW! What a fish! Congratulations on the fish of a lifetime.
